Shots Fired in Morristown

Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., Chief William Schievella and Morristown Police Chief Peter Demnitz announce the investigation into a weapon discharge which took place Saturday evening December 5, 2009 in Morristown.

On the evening of Saturday December 5, 2009 at approximately 8:58 p.m., the Morristown Police Department received a 911 call reporting shots fired on Speedwell Place. The Morristown Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit and Intelligence Crime Task Force along with the Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section responded to the scene.

The investigation revealed that numerous shots were discharged from a semi-automatic handgun striking a Speedwell Place residence. Nobody was injured as a result of the discharge.

The Morristown Fire Department was on the scene to assist law enforcement with the recovery of evidence.
