Executive Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Esq.

Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Esq.Executive Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Esq. earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1988. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University Law School, Newark, New Jersey in 1992.

After graduating law school, Executive Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood served as the law clerk to the Honorable Stephen F. Smith, J.S.C., who at the time was the Presiding Criminal Judge in Morris County.

She became an Assistant Prosecutor with the Union County Prosecutor's Office in March of 1995 and worked in the Appellate, Juvenile, Pre-Disposition Conference Unit and the Trial Team. Executive Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood returned to Morris County in December of 1997 to serve as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. She was assigned to the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit for eight years, the last four years as Supervisor of the Unit. In that capacity, Executive Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood was recognized by the New Jersey chapter of ASIS for her leadership skills and commitment to the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit. In March of 2006, Executive Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood was assigned to the Professional Standards Unit to handle sensitive and confidential investigations and prosecutions such as those committed by public officials.

In 2007, Prosecutor Bianchi assigned Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood to supervise the Trial Division. Prosecutor Bianchi promoted Maggie Calderwood to Executive Assistant Prosecutor on August 6, 2010. In this capacity, she oversees all of the attorneys in the office and continues to help review cases, recommend additional investigation, outline evidential issues and approve plea offers. Ms. Calderwood also helps implement trainings for assistant prosecutors to enhance their trial skills.

In addition to her supervisory duties, Executive Assistant Prosecutor Calderwood undertakes the task of prepping and trying high profile cases specifically assigned by Prosecutor Bianchi.
